Plainview Water District and the Plainview-Bethpage Lions Club Partner to Collect Coat Drive Donations
The Plainview Water District recently hosted a coat drive to contribute donations to the Plainview-Bethpage Lions Club Coat Drive.
Plainview, NY (November 20, 2015) – With cold weather imminent, the Plainview Water District Board of Commissioners Joel R. Kessler, Andrew N. Bader and Marc B. Laykind are proud to announce the Plainview community has recently donated coats to contribute to the Lions Club Coat Drive held at the District’s administrative office. The collection will be distributed this winter through the Lions Club organization.
“We would like to thank our community members for their generosity,” said Commissioner Andrew Bader, who is also a member of the Plainview-Bethpage Lions Club. “Because of the donations made by our neighbors, we will be able to distribute coats to those in need this winter.”
“Unfortunately some members of our community are faced with not having an adequate coat to keep them dry and warm during the cold months,” said Plainview-Bethpage Lions Club President, Richard Leshaw. “We are incredibly thankful for the efforts of the Plainview Water District for hosting this coat drive and the residents who donated new or gently used jackets, which we will be able to pass on to those community members who are in need.”
The Lions Club is made-up of volunteers who work to serve the unique needs of their communities. In addition to the coat drive, the District is also hosting a Toys for Tots collection to distribute gifts to less fortunate children in the community.
