Registration Open for Walking Program

Town offers free program for the fall.

Registration for the ’s fall walking program is underway.

The program begins Monday, Sept.12, and continues through Thursday, Oct. 20 and will be held at both Syosset-Woodbury Community Park and John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa.

Registration forms are available at Town Hall South and at the Recreation Office in the TOB Ice Skating Center in Bethpage. Forms should be returned to the Recreation Division or to the Town of Oyster Bay Parks Department, Recreation/Walking Program, 977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa 11758.

“Walking is an excellent form of exercise that is easy and low-impact that’s suitable for every age,” Town Councilwoman Beth A. Faughnan said. “It is an ideal form of activity for males and females for all fitness levels. People join for the exercise, as well as the social aspect. Best of all, you can learn great tips on exercise while getting a workout for free!”
