Nassau County has announced a deal to keep a small company from moving out of state. The arrangement allows the firm to relocate from Mineola to Hicksville.

The deal will allow the Mineola company to purchase and renovate a 5,000-square-foot building at 801 S. Broadway in Hicksville. It intends to move seven current jobs and create six new jobs within three years after construction is completed. Three full-time-equivalent construction jobs also will be created, Mangano's office said.
The move raises the question about the IDA's role in Nassau economic development: Simply put: What else could the IDA be doing to attract and retain jobs in Nassau?
