It's Veterans Day: The kids are off from school and the weekend is here. There are entertainment options all around town this weekend.

For Friday:

1. The , opens its run of , the rock musical adaptation of Frank Wedekind's 1892 play. Tonight's performance is at 8; $20. For more on the show see our story and photos.

2. Nassau Community College presents the Tennessee Williams classic at 8 p.m. in the Little Theatre on the college campus in Garden City. Tickets: $9, $7 for seniors 55 and over and free for students with valid ID at the door, day of the performance.

3. All over Plainview tonight, congregations will welcome shabbat. is offering a special service at 7:30 p.m. commemorating , the rampage 73 years ago when Nazi gangs looted and burned homes, businesses and synagogues. The special service includes a temple member's first-hand account of those attacks.

4. continues through Sunday. The eight-day promotion features a special prix fixe dinner offered by all restaurant participants, including those in Plainview.
