Charlie Brown, a four-pound toy poodle, suffered from two broken legs that were neglected for months, resulting in one having to be amputated shortly after he was rushed to the SPCA’s Simpson Veterinary Clinic. His owner was arrested for animal cruelty.
Charlie Brown’s story tugged on the heartstrings of everyone who learned of his ordeal, and they cheered him on while he learned to walk on three legs, SPCA officials said. He is an example of how resilient an animal can be and that is why they chose him as this year’s Dog Walk Mascot.
