A Message to the Community from the Board of Ed

Dear Community Member, 


On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, the Board of Education will hold a regular Board of Education meeting followed by our second “Community Forum” to discuss the state of our District’s facilities, including school buildings and grounds.

The schedule is outlined below:

Board Meeting: 7:30 PM at the Pleasantville High School Library/Media Center
Superintendent Report: Updates on PHS Principal Search and District Strategic Plan Initiative

Community Forum: anticipated start time at 8:30 PM at the Pleasantville High School Library/Media Center.
Topic: District facilities
Part 1: Presentation regarding the existing conditions at all District school buildings and all athletic playing fields.
Part 2: Group discussion focused on building and field conditions, possible remedies and priorities.
Part 3: Participants report feedback to the Board of Education.

BACKGROUND: Currently, some of our school buildings, fields and infrastructure need repairs and upgrades. We would like to assess the community’s views about the condition of our facilities, determine their priorities for projects.

Our first Community Forum on Advocacy was a great success; we hope to have a similar turnout for this equally important topic. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.
