After Devastating Fire, Billy's Reopens in Briarcliff

Billy Egloff is starting over.

The long insurance investigation into the 2010 Thanksgiving Day fire that demolished his North State Road auto repair business is over and he's starting over with new services and a new connection with another local small business.

It was one thing to lose his business in the early morning fire, Egloff said, but “I was very upset about the loss of income for my mechanics and their families."

And there was the destruction of the vintage cars he had been restoring for the last 30 years, a 1967 Camaro and a 1971 Chevelle, and "the loss of most of my grandfather’s tools."

That "also broke my heart," he said.

There was only one wrench salvaged, a favorite of one of the mechanics. 

Though still on North State Road, the new Billy’s Auto Repair is now in the old Saab dealership less then a mile away from the former location at the intersection of Chappaqua Road and North State Road.

At 557 North State Rd., Egloff is offering the same services that kept the business afloat for five years at the prior location, but with a more modern spin.

His partner in the building is and together they are providing a unique service: You can have mechanical work done, oil changed, tires rotated and then have your car washed and detailed under one roof.

Egloff and Eric Cavalieri from Prestige say they can also drop you off at , or wherever you are going, and pick you up after the work on your car is done.

It was also a relocation for Prestige, previously at 537 North State Road.

Cavalieri is no stranger to North State Road, having worked for Club Fit from 1990 to 1999, when he bought the already established car detailing business from Josh Glassman. Cavalieri has made many friends and supporters along the way and is grateful for their continued support.

Prestige specializes in hand car washing and detailing, they also will prepare your leased vehicle for return to the dealership and do paintless dent repairs, with children's area and WiFi.
