Alfred Farella 84, most recently of Pleasantville, N.Y. and formerly of Yonkers, N.Y. died on May 25, 2013 at his residence. He was born on April 8, 1929 to the late Dominick and Fortunata (nee Cardinale) Farella in Bronx, N.Y. Alfred was owner-operator of Bronxwood Ave. Cleaners in Bronx, N.Y. retiring in 1993.
He was predeceased by his devoted wife Camille (nee Altomare) Farella in 1995 and by his two deceased brothers, Peter and Mario.
Alfred is survived by his two loving sons, Steven J.(Ellen) Farella of Goldens Bridge, N.Y. and Alfred A.(Jean) Farella of Hawthorne, N.Y. one sister, Bridget Carboni of Milford, Conn. and one brother, Vincent Farella of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. also survived by his seven cherished grandchildren, Christina, David, Stevie, Patrick, Freddy, Rob and Julianne.
He will always be remembered for the great love he had for his family, his many long lasting friendships and his love of dancing and golf.
Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Wednesday, 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
