All-Day Pleasantville Community Blood Drive May 26

Pleasantville High School, Ambulance Corps and Fire Department urge everyone to sign up.

The Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps reminds us:

As we head into summer it is important to keep blood donations as high as possible as they will rapidly fall off in July and August when schools are closed and vacations take us away from home. There is an unending need for blood, and supplies need to be constantly replenished. The Greater Metropolitan Area alone requires 2,000 units of blood products daily to meets normal needs.

The Pleasantville High School and the Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps have once again teamed up to sponsor an All-Day Blood Drive from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 26 at the school on Romer Avenue.

Both whole blood and red cells units will be collected from qualifying candidates. Although this drive makes it convenient for Pleasantville residents to participate, blood donors from all towns are welcome to come to lend their help.

For information, to sign up or to volunteer, call (914) 747-2408 or send an email to angela.usobiaga@verizon.net. Although it is helpful to let the organizers know in advance that you plan to come, walk-ins are always accepted.
