August: Summer's Peak!
Place preorders from our vendors Tues, 7:00pm – Thurs, 7:00pm. Then walk up Saturday, 8:30am – 1:00pm, to gather your preorders shop further

August always delivers an especially abundant, diverse harvest. Make use of the Market to ensure summer doesn't slide by without your family having great meals to think back on once fall settles in. Don't think fall will ever arrive? Mead Orchards says the first glimpse is here in their early apples arriving (Honeycrisps are in this week!). That said, in celebration of our still present summer we're sharing a Market Moments video (and recipe card) so you can make authentic Greek tzatziki using fresh cucumbers from our farms, yogurt from Chaseholm Farm Creamery or Edgwick Farm, and Demi's olive oil. Enjoy!

While recent changes in NYS COVID-19 regulations have enabled us to relax some health & safety protocols for customers at the Pleasantville Farmers Market, please note our updated policies for August:
Distancing:
- Please maintain 6' distancing while shopping, especially in busy vendor queues
Masking:
- Unvaccinated shoppers are required to wear masks while visiting the Market (including children ages 2 through 12).
- Vaccinated shoppers are recommended to mask while shopping (they are not required at this time)
If eating or drinking while at the Market:
- Please make use of our grass area where we will have spaced tables and chairs (beginning this week).
The Market is monitoring guidance and will provide policy updates as need.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PFM-O!
PFM-O is one year old! Thank you for using our preorder system and for supporting our farmers and food artisans, especially this year. This system helped our customers to shop safely during the pandemic by implementing no-contact payment and reducing exposure to other shoppers and vendors. And it’s also supported our vendors’ businesses at a critical time, while reducing food waste.
Though experiment has been an enormous success, to be sustainable as a non-profit we need to break even, and that requires raising the pickup fee to $3 per order (effective in August). This represents an increase from the $2 fee we set and held since last winter, but is much less than the $5 fee per order we began with one year ago.
We’re committed to health and safety – and to shoppers using PFM-O! - and we hope you’ll agree with us that the benefit PFM-O provides to our community is worth this small increase.

Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "The antioxidant vitamin C, when eaten in its natural form (in whole foods such as peaches) or applied topically, can reduce wrinkles, improve overall skin texture and help to fight skin damage caused by the sun and pollution. Vitamin C also plays a vital role in the formation of collagen, the support system of your skin".
