Three authors will read and sign books Thursday, July 21 at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library

Three authors will read and sign books:
Fawzia Afzal-Khan, former director of Women and Gender Studies Program at Montclair State University, is the author of five books, a published playwright and poet and Fulbright Scholar and NEH award winner working on a documentary about Pakistani women singers
Rafiq Kathwari is the first non-Irish recipient of the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award in the 44-year history of the award. Rafiq has translated from the original Urdu selected poems of Sir Mohammed Iqbal, one of the handful of great South Asian poets of the 20th century writing in Urdu.
Kanza Javed is a Pakistani novelist whose critically acclaimed debut novel ASHES, WINE AND DUST (published in 2015) deals with the theme of childhood losses and the understated challenges of adolescence. She was a research scholar at ASU in 2015 with Pakistani writing being her primary field of research. Registration is recommended but all are welcome to attend.
