"Beauty and the Beast" Earns 14 HS Theatre Nods

Pleasantville High School's spring musical is up for Metro Awards in multiple categories.

's performing arts program is no stranger to the Metropolitan High School Theater Awards and this year is no different.

The spring musical, , has been nominated for 14 awards—including Outstanding Overall Production—by the organization that recognizes high school productions in Westchester, Rockland and Bergen counties.

Judges attend the musicals each year. On June 4, there will be an awards ceremony for the nominees at  in Peekskill at 7:30 p.m.

Last year's production of The Wizard of Oz —Outstanding Direction By Teacher for Kathleen Donovan-Warren and Outstanding Musical Direction for Thomas Hentzelman. Both are nominated in the same categories again this year.

Technical Merit Award (teacher-nominated) — Megan Schaub and Stephen Huerster (technical directors) and Noah Mitchell (stage manager)
