BHS Winners in the International Avogadro Chemistry Exam
Waterloo University in Ontario recognized nine Briarcliff High School Sophomores for excellence in chemistry based on scores

Sophomores Christopher Arroyo, Daniel de Castro, Gil Halevi, Christopher Li, Matthew Li, Tyler Lindemann, Zoe London, Michael Tu, and Sydney Zhang scored in the top five percent of over 4000 students taking the Avogadro chemistry exam in the U.S. and Canada. Each student received an Elemental Tile for Outstanding Achievement.
This annual exam, created in 1971 by the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, has been given annually as a challenge to high school chemistry students worldwide.
"The exam rewards insightful and out-of-the box thinking, which these nine students effectively demonstrate," commented high school chemistry teacher Dr. Robert Saar.

The students will continue their excellent work in science next year as they are enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) science courses starting in the Fall.
