Take a tour through 3,000 years of Jewish music. The poetry of pre-monarchic Israel; the music of the 14th century Spanish and Portuguese Jews; songs from the Torah; songs from Tehillim (Psalms) and songs from the siddur (prayer book) are all represented in a short, 50-minute-long tour.
Host Bernie Gordon and I discuss the history of Jewish song, and I get a chance to play some of my favorites in this on-demand, on-line special from PCTV Channel 76. Translations and transliterations of all songs will appear to the right of the video.
