Last week I wrote about RESPECT and touched on Self-Respect. Respecting one’s self is so important to personal development and growth. I believe, when we respect ourselves, we treat our bodies like temples; we nourish and strengthen our body, mind, and spirit, becoming a whole person. And when we respect ourselves then we know what it means to respect others. You need to respect yourself before you can truly respect others.

Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”
Maybe you learned the Golden Rule in church or kindergarten. Or your mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandma, or grandpa would tell you...and this is so true....
When you respect yourself and treat others with that same kind of respect, you will experience a growing satisfaction in yourself, a belief in yourself, a knowledge that you are a good person and a trust in yourself. You will love yourself and show that love to others. You will accept yourself and show acceptance of others.

You now have five great reasons to love and respect yourself. Believe in yourself!
Learning Taekwondo enables you to develop the strength of character to love and appreciate one’s self. A Black Belt gains a sense of security that is conveyed in everything they do and they exude confidence. This confidence can inspire others to see you in a positive light, reinforcing self-respect.
The present is the gift that is today. Look back at the past with gratitude, because those events and the actions taken brought you to where you are today. You do not live in the future, you live in the present. Make the most of this precious gift.
Here is a toast to...THE NOW! Enjoy your "present" every day!
