Introduction To Composting

Meet seasoned composters and learn the ins and outs of backyard composting! We will answer your questions and also address compost layers, how to speed up the composting process, the carbon:nitrogen ratio, moisture, aeration, temperature. Plus, learn about different compost bins and locations for your needs and how to troubleshoot your compost pile, and more.

This workshop is for all levels: Please join us if you are a beginner and would like to learn the principles of composting or if you are experienced and would like to share your stories.

You will also have an opportunity to sign-up to buy an Earth Machine compost bin.

It works to increase residents’ use of existing recycling programs through education and outreach; to enhance the village’s current programs; and to identify and develop new waste reduction, reuse, and recycling initiatives.
