Briarcliff Manor Court: One-Year Sentence for Tobin; Down Plea for DWI Defendant

DWI Defendant to Seek Treatment
Aimee Weber, 22, is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated as a result of a June 9 arrest.

The Harrison resident while driving on South State Road. After her arrest, she was processed and released on $100 cash bail.
Wednesday, Weber's attorney entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf and requested a two-week adjournment. Assistant District Attorney Diana Ameri requested the defendant be evaluated by Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC), while Weber's attorney said she has an appointment with a counsel scheduled through a different facility.

Weinstein said the treatment process must be overseen by TASC.
The case was adjourned until July 13.
Ossining Case to Cover Briarcliff Harassment Suit
Donald Conacchio, 48, is charged with Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
The Ossining resident was arrested on May 4.
According to Ameri, the case will likely be covered by a pending Village of Ossining matter, scheduled for disposition today.
Weinstein set July 13 as a control date, when Conacchio's appearance will be waived if there is a plea in Ossining.
Man Arrested Monday for Alleged Harassment
Michael Valenti, 47, of Briarcliff Manor, was arrested on June 20 and charged with Harassment in the Second Degree, a violation.
According to police, Valenti was arrested at his home at approximately 11:30 p.m. after police received a complaint from a 45-year-old Briarcliff Manor woman.
On Wednesday, Village Justice Fred Weinstein completed the arraignment in the case. Valenti's attorney entered a plea of not guilty on his client's behalf and requested a two-week adjournment.
Weinstein also issued a temporary order of protection in favor of the complainant, expiring in six months. He additionally referred the defendant to Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC) to oversee treatment which Valenti's attorney said he was seeking separately through a therapist.
The defendant continues to be released on his own recognizance and the case was adjourned until July 13.
Burglary Case Concludes
James Tobin, 22, appeared in court Monday accompanied by New York State prison guards, as he remains incarcerated in Riverview Correctional Facility, as he previously faced a charge of Burglary in the Second Degree resulting from a January 12 arrest.
to the reduced charges of Criminal Trespassing and Petit Larceny.
On Wednesday, he was sentenced to one-year jail sentence to be served concurrently with a Westchester County Court sentence, as well as a five-year order of protection in favor of the complainant.
Warrant Issued for Jenkins
Jermaine Jenkins, 26, was arrested on Dec. 17, 2010 and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree and Suspended Registration.
The Sleepy Hollow resident did not appear in court today and Ameri requested a bench warrant be issued in the case, as he also did not appear at the last court date, June 8.
Ameri added the case was previously anticipated to be covering by an Ossining matter.
The case was adjourned until July 13.
DWI Case Wraps Up
Reyad Eljamal, 28, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
The Briarcliff Manor resident was arrested on June 3 in the village.
Yesterday, Eljamal pleaded guilty to Driving While Ability Impaired, a violation, and was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge, 90-day license suspension, along with $560 in fines and surcharges.
Weinstein also directed Eljamal to attend a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Victim Impact Panel.
Note: All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
