Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: GPS Stolen from Car; Break-In at Train Station

The following information was supplied by the Briarcliff Manor Police Department. When arrests are noted, they do not indicate a conviction.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from Aug. 29 — Sept. 4, 2011:

Sunday, Sept. 4

4:17 p.m. — A break-in was reported at the Scarborough Metro-North station. Police filed a larceny report. A list of missing items was not immediately available.

1:35 a.m. — A South State Road resident notified police of a possibly missing youth. It was later determined the youth was sleeping over at a friend's house and the case was closed.

Saturday, Sept. 3

8:08 p.m. — Police received a call reporting a disoriented man on Pleasantville Road. Responding officers said the man was an Atria resident and transported him back to the building.

7:18 p.m. — Police were notified of a larceny at the Scarborough train station. The responding officer confirmed the driver's side window of a car parked at the station had been smashed and a GPS was reported missing. A report was filed.

Thursday, Sept. 1

1:57 p.m. — A Hirst Road resident reported an unwanted party had shown up at the home requesting to speak with a resident about a personal matter. Police asked the unwanted person to leave without incident.

Wednesday, Aug. 31

11:29 p.m. — A Whitson Road resident reported criminal mischief in his driveway involving an obscene gesture created using what appeared to be baby powder. A report was filed.

Monday, Aug. 29

9:58 p.m. — Police were notified of a suspicious person wearing a mask on Sleepy Hollow Road. The responding officer reported the suspect was a local youth who was skateboarding in the area. Police transported him home as a courtesy.
