Cliff Hangers, the first annual Middle School Literary Magazine, has recently been published by members of the Writers Club.
Students across all grades, including those not in the club, have been working on the magazine since January, contributing poems, stories, class assignments, first chapters of books they are writing and original artwork.

“Since we have so many talented students in the middle school, I wanted to give them an opportunity to share their written work with people outside of their ELA classrooms,” said club advisor and Library Media Specialist Teka Keane.
Members of the Writers Club received words of wisdom from author Jen Calonita during a virtual visit with the club. Ms. Calonita offered the students advice
And encouraged them to keep writing (and re-writing).
She also shared her own writing process for story layout methods, note-keeping and timelines, which could be useful to some of the club members who are currently writing their own novels.
“The first edition of Cliff Hangers has such a wide array of stories and artwork,” Ms. Keane said. “I look forward to seeing what the students will contribute next year.”
