The organization's principal accepted an award on Tuesday.
Thalle Industries, a Briarcliff Manor-based supplier of aggregate, concrete and asphalt products for construction projects, was honored by the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) on Tuesday.
The nonprofit recognized Thalle Industries' Principal Glenn Pacchina, as well as the Chappaqua-based Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF), "for their commitment to the environment."

According to a statement, "At its Fishkill quarry, Thalle uses a concurrent reclamation plan that immediately re-establishes trees as the quarry is mined. Recycling is one of the company’s top priorities: Every ton of aggregate made at Thalle’s recycling facility and 'virtual quarry' in Elmsford is one less ton removed from the Fishkill quarry. The net result is less trucking across the Hudson River, which reduces truck traffic, fuel consumption and the amount of material brought to landfills."
Additionally, "Thalle Industries’ clean practices and green materials are also used throughout watershed areas and for brownfield cleanups."
