Car Crashes into Squires Restaurant

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY — Squires, the popular eatery on North State Road, had its front smashed in Sunday night when an SUV jumped the curb.

That's a high curb right there, on an uphill slope, but as you can see in the photos the car was right on the curb-cutout for handicap access.

The driver, a village resident, apparently mistook the accelerator for the brake. No one was hurt and no one was charged, Briarcliff Manor police said.

The restaurant is open for business.
