BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY — CareMount Medical, the largest independent multi-specialty medical group in New York State has announced today that six new physicians have joined the medical group and are now seeing patients. The former Mount Kisco Medical Group has locations all over the eastern side of the lower Hudson Valley. Locally, one of the MDs will be working in the Briarcliff office and two of the new doctors will be practicing out of the Mount Kisco office.
Dr. Monica Gupta, Endocrinology and Metabolism: Dr. Gupta is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and brings a successful record of treatment and research of diabetic conditions to CareMount. After receiving her medical education and post graduate training at Drexel University, Dr. Gupta did a fellowship in endocrinology and served as chief fellow educating residents in core endocrine topics. She completed her internship and internal medicine residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Gupta practices in CareMount’s Briarcliff Manor location; she has privileges at Northern Westchester Hospital.
Dr. Jennifer LaPorta, Family Medicine: Dr. LaPorta earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey, and completed her residency in Family and Community Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She brings a proven track record of success in primary care working in the areas of maternal and child health care, youth emergency services, geriatric and palliative care. Her dedication to mentorship and hard work in patient centered medicine made her a nominee of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award in 2016. Dr. LaPorta is practicing at CareMount Medical’s Mount Kisco office, and has privileges at Northern Westchester Hospital.
Dr. A. Garvey Rene, Cardiology: Dr. Rene completed his fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his medical education from Weill Cornell Medical College, and completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Columbia University Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Rene is also certified with the National Board of Echocardiography. His clinical expertise includes all aspects of cardiovascular diseases, including ventricular septal defects and pericardial effusions. Dr. Rene is practicing at the Mount Kisco office, as well as the Westage (Fishkill) office. He holds privileges at Westchester Medical Center and consulting privileges at Northern Westchester Hospital.

Dr. Varun Kumar, Gastroenterology & Hepatology: After receiving his medical education from SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, Dr. Kumar completed his internship and residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. He stayed at Yale University School of Medicine to complete a clinical research fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Kumar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has expertise in Colon Cancer screening and prevention, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Gut Microbiome Dysbiosis, Clostridium difficile treatment, Esophageal and swallowing disorders, Liver disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Endoscopic Procedures. He is practicing at CareMount Medical’s Columbia St. (Poughkeepsie), Westage (Fishkill), and Kingston offices, and has privileges at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Dr. Elizabeth Ng, Pediatric Neurology: Dr. Ng has a keen interest in helping children with neurodevelopmental and neurological disorders. She joins CareMount Medical as a pediatric neurologist, pediatric epileptologist and clinical neurophysiologist. Dr. Ng previously attended the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed her general pediatrics residency at Schneider Children's Hospital/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Ng specialized in child neurology at the Cohen Children's Medical Center of Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology/epilepsy at the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center of the Neurosciences Institute at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is practicing in the Columbia St. (Poughkeepsie), Merritt Blvd. (Fishkill) and Kingston offices and has privileges at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Dr. Katie Pandolfo, Ophthalmology: Dr. Pandolfo received her medical education from Albany Medical College. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Ophthalmology at Albany Medical Center where she focused on the treatment of cataracts, strabismus and oculoplastic surgery. She is the recipient of numerous academic honors. Dr. Pandolfo is practicing at CareMount Medical’s Rhinebeck and Kingston offices and has privileges at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
