Ceremonies, Services For 20th Anniversary Of 9/11
Here's a list of events in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — For the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, there are events around the Hudson Valley commemorating the lives lost during the attacks as well as those who died because of related illnesses.

Westchester County
Westchester County: A memorial to first responders who have lost their lives due to 9/11 related illnesses will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Ardsley: The ceremony begins around 8:40 a.m. at the Ardsley Firehouse, 505 Ashford Ave.
Croton-on-Hudson/Buchanan/Cortlandt: The annual tri-municipal 9/11 memorial ceremony will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. at Croton Landing Park in Croton-on-Hudson.
Dobbs Ferry: The Zion Episcopal Church will hold a memorial service from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. 55 Cedar St.
Eastchester: A service will be held at 8:35 a.m. at Eastchester Town Hall, 40 Mill Road.
Larchmont/Mamaroneck: A ceremony begins at 5 p.m. in Memorial Park, Myrtle Boulevard.
Mount Kisco: The ceremony at the memorial on Main Street begins at 6:15 p.m. Saturday.
Mount Vernon: At 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, on City Hall Plaza.
New Castle: A memorial ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. at Gedney Park, 155 Millwood Road.
North Castle: A memorial ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at Wampus Brook Park.
Pelham: American Legion Pelham Post 50 will host a ceremony beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the 9/11 Memorial on Pelham Avenue.
Pound Ridge: A ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Pound Ridge Fire Station, 80 Westchester Ave.
Rye: The ceremony starts at 11 a.m. at the firehouse at 15 Locust Ave.
White Plains: The White Plains Youth Bureau hosts an event starting at 9 a.m. at Liberty Park.
Yonkers: A ceremony starts at 8:30 a.m. at the 9/11 Memorial on Water Grant Street.
Putnam County
- The Putnam County Youth Court Program hosts a 9/11 Day 20th anniversary ceremony at 8:46 a.m. at the Donald B. Smith County Government Campus, 112 Old Route 6, Carmel.
- A candlelight vigil will begin at 7 p.m. at the Putnam Heroes Memorial, Spain Cornerstone Park, 1 Fair St., Carmel.
Rockland County
The county's annual ceremony at the 9/11 memorial in Haverstraw Bay County Park starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Clarkstown: A remembrance ceremony starts at 5 p.m. Sept. 11 at Clarkstown Town Hall.
Haverstraw: The Rockland County Marine Corps League hosts a wreath-laying ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, Haverstraw Town Hall, 1 Rosman Road, Garnerville.
Nyack: The remembrance will take place at the Hometown Heroes Memorial in Memorial Park from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Orangetown: A memorial ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. at town hall, 26 Orangeburg Road.
Ramapo: A candlelight vigil will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12 at Ramapo Town Hall, 237 Route 59.
Sloatsburg: A service at Mill Street Park starts at 8:30 a.m.
Stony Point: A memorial ceremony starts at 7 p.m. at Stony Point Town Hall, 74 E. Main St.
Suffern: A ceremony at Suffern Village Hall begins at 2 p.m.
Tappan: The Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan will dedicate a new memorial in a ceremony beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the Tappan Green.
West Haverstraw: A candlelight ceremony will start at 7:15 p.m. at Peck's Pond Park on Samsondale Avenue.
Orange County
- Orange County will honor the memory of its 44 residents who died Sept. 11, 2001, at a ceremony at the Orange County Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.
- The Orange County Emergency Services Center, at 22 Wells Farm Road in Goshen, will shine twin beams on Saturday as a tribute to those lost during the 9/11 terrorist attacks 20 years ago. The beams will be on at dusk on 9/11 and remain lit throughout the evening.
Dutchess County
Dutchess County: September 11th Memorial Ceremony, 8:30 a.m. Friday, Family Court Center, 50 Market St., Poughkeepsie
City of Poughkeepsie: 9/11 Memorial Service, 9:30 a.m. Friday, 9/11 Memorial at City hall, 62 Civic Center Plaza.
