Come Walk With Rockefeller Preserve’s Expert Conservationist

Preserve Manager offers a half-hour walk and a half-hour talk about new projects, changes, and land stewardship in the Preserve.

PLEASANTVILLE-BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY - From the New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Department: Come join us this autumn at Rockefeller Preserve as expert conservationist and Preserve Manager Susan Antenen guides us through her monthly walks and talks. Her next talk, “What’s New in the Preserve?” is on Sunday, October 22nd at 3:30 PM in the Preserve Gallery. Her next walk, “Life in the Preserve” is on Sunday, October 8th at 10:30 AM, and begins in the Preserve courtyard.

Both programs provide the public with an understanding of what the Preserve is doing to keep the landscape as enjoyable today as it was for the Rockefellers 100 years ago. Susan Antenen will discuss with you the upcoming changes, trail improvement projects, and new land stewardship programs. You are invited to bring your questions about the Preserve’s ecology, management, history, and anything else!

Rockefeller State Park Preserve was created through several farsighted and generous gifts to the State of New York by the Rockefeller Family since 1983. It is designated as a “park-preserve” to highlight and protect its natural, historical, and cultural values. Its network of carriage trails wind through scenic forests, fields, and wetlands, which provide important habitat for native plants and wildlife.

The Preserve Office and Gallery are open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and are located at 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, N.Y. 10570.
