Corporate FunRun Westchester 5k Raises More Than $30,000 for Blythdale Children's Hospital

Purchase, NY (July 30, 2015) - The 2nd annual Corporate FunRun Westchester 5k encouraged 1,282 participants and 72 company teams to lace up their running shoes and race July 16 at SUNY Purchase. The after-work, company-based running/walking benefit attracted 500 more participants and nearly 30 more teams than its inaugural year in 2014 and raised more than $300,000 for Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla.

Coined “The Summer’s Best Office Party,” the second-year event featured a post-race party and awards ceremony honoring the top individual and team racers. Dr. Stuart Weitzman and Bedford Hills Family Chiropractic swept all three team categories: All-male, all-female, and mixed-team. Further, ProClinx Physical Therapy’s Jake Feinstein, of Sandy Hook, Conn., was the first-place male finisher with a chip time of 15: 56 and Dr. Stuart Weitzman’s Kirby Mosenthal, of Briarcliff Manor, was the first-place female finisher with a chip time of 19:26.

The Corporate FunRun 5k series, which began in 2014, was created as a workplace fitness event to engage employees, encourage team building, and promote health and fitness amongst area companies. Last year’s events along the East Coast gained the participation of more than 150 company teams and 1800 team members across races in Westchester, Fairfield, and Long Island. 2015 events have expanded to include Baltimore, Delaware, Philadelphia, and Northern New Jersey.
