The Delicious Good Time Is Outdoors April 1 (no foolin')
Pleasantville Farmers Market is open Saturday, 8:30am - 1:00pm

Spring has sprung and so has the Pleasantville Farmers Market. Seem early? It is -- like last year, the Market has moved outside eight weeks earlier than in previous years. Moving to Memorial Plaza in April enables us to offer more space, more parking and well, more fresh air! Shoppers this Saturday will see some new vendors, notice some Indoor Market Rotation Vendors shift to weekly outdoor schedules, and see Cowberry Crossing Farm, Neversink Farm and Gajeski Produce continue to bring mounds of fresh, indoor grown produce while the region's outdoor growing season begins to get underway (Little Seed Gardens will join us mid-April with their own fresh, indoor grown greens as well).
Open When, and Park Where?
The Outdoor Market is open Saturday from 8:30am to 1:00pm. Where to Park? Get to know the "hidden parking lots of Pville". There are 7 parking lots within a few blocks of the Market. Review them all by clicking here to view a parking map.

Rainbow of Color Week
Last week Foodchester, non-profit operator of the Pleasantville Farmers Market, stopped by our local elementary school to congratulate Mr. Vavolizza's 2nd grade class. For one week, each day represented a different color for students at the Bedford Road School. Students were encouraged to bring in a fruit or vegetable snack matching the day's color (and to wear that color too). Points were earned for fruits and veggie snacks, with teachers keeping a tally for their class. This year Mr. Vavolizza's 2nd grade class had the most points and each child in that class was be awarded their very own $5 Market Buck coin to use at the Market.
Next Week: Recipe Demo of
Mrs. Rogovin's Hot! Hot! Hot! Beet Horseradish
If you've ever considered making beet horseradish from beets and fresh horseradish root, stop by April 8 to brave a sample, and pick up a recipe card and ingredients from the Market to make a batch yourself.
Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: " Something many people don’t know is that the LEAVES of vegetables are richest in nutrient content, followed right after by the flowers and the stems. The darker the leaves…the greater the vitamins and minerals! Beet greens, Swiss chard, spinach and kale are all high in nutrients and low in calories and should be eaten frequently."
Simply Planted Greenhouses
Simply Planted Greenhouses will make their season debut with beautiful combinations of cold tolerant annuals in decorative baskets or in pots for planting.
Adair Vineyards
Welcome back Marc Stopkie of Adair Vineyard by stopping in to purchase some of his unique wines this Saturday. Marc will kick off our season's rotation of weekly visits by regional wineries with his visit.
