The Delicious Good Time Is Outdoors May 23
The Market is closed this Saturday; reopens May 23 at Memorial Plaza

The Pleasantville Farmers Market is closed this Saturday for Pleasantville Day. But on May 23 the outdoor season is finally here, with Opening Day at Memorial Plaza. And Opening Day is going to be everything you expect at the Pleasantville Farmers Market: music, culinary, and kids events, a diverse and exciting roster of farms and food artisans, and friends enjoying Pleasantville outdoors.
VENDOR NEWS
Who’s Back After A Winter Away?
Vendors we haven’t seen all winter are returning such as Aba’s Falafel, J&A Farm (now Certified Naturally Grown), Captain Lawrence Brewing Company (1x/month, beginning in June), our four wineries (Adair Vineyards, Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery, Tousey Winery, and Whitecliff Vineyards), The River Garden, Drink More Good, and North Winds Lavender Farm.
Whose In More Often?
Many vendors who were in 1x/month or 2x/month in the indoor market are now in more frequently. Vendors that are now weekly include Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse, Healing Home Foods, Hudson River Apiaries, Hudson Duck Farm, and Stefan’s Pure Blends. Visit our website’s Vendor Page to review a complete listing of all our vendors (the frequency of their visits is listed in each vendor’s summary).
Who’s New?
Continuing as new vendors from the indoor season are Neversink Farm, Ardith Mae Farmstead Goat Cheese, Jake’s Cakes (GF items) and Demi Olive Oil (returning in June). New to our outdoor market this year are Bulich Mushroom Farm, Gajeski Produce, Orwasher’s Bakery, and Wright’s Farm.

Check out our new Recipes Page, currently loaded with over 30 recipes submitted by our wonderful farmers, vendors and visiting food artisans. This is a work in progress, with 15 more delicious recipes still to be logged in, and more to come. We hope you enjoy finding new ways to prepare your favorite ingredients.
OPENING DAY PROGRAMS
We have a great opening act to kick off another season of Market Sprouts programs for kids: the return of Marco the Magician! Marco Frezza’s acclaimed magic show confounds the senses of adults and children. With too much blow-your-mind magic for just one show, Marco has offered to perform at 9:30am and again at 11:00am. Please bring the whole family, all your friends, even distant cousins to help us build a great crowd for Marco. He’ll leave them all guessing. (Note: In addition to offering performances for children, Marco Frezza is an instructor of magic through his site onlinemagicschool.com, and also in private classes. If your kids are interested in learning magic speak with Marco for more information.
Opening a great, new season of Music@ the Market, the Eugene Tyler Band features songwriting influenced by the great rock and country acts of the past 50 years, while also retaining some of the attitude of the modern punk bands that shaped their youth. After building a solid local following, the Eugene Tyler Band is prepped to grow their live and online presence, with a self-titled debut album released in March 2015, and an acoustic tour throughout this summer.
Also May 23, Market Nutritionist Marina Stopler will introduce another series of “Let’s Talk” events. Throughout the summer and fall at the Health & Sustainability Tent the Market will have Marina return, as well as host chefs demonstrations and special tastings of seasonal produce.

NEW SPONSORS
TD Bank is committed to making a meaningful and positive contribution to the individuals, families, businesses and communities where they are located. This community spirit is embodied in their support of our Market, particularly their sponsorship of our Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which began in December, 2014. Our community’s health depends upon good nutrition, and TD Bank has enabled our Market to provide more, to more residents, in our neighborhood.
This year the Market Sprouts kids and family activities are being sponsored by Carmel-based Kiwi Country Day Camp. They are a perfect fit, with creative events of their own to offer, and enthusiasm for our full season of fun, health-and-wellness activities. Kiwi Country Day Camp will make its first visit as an event host on June 6. On that day you’ll be able to see their dedicated staff in action and to ask questions about their camp programs too.
