Ready To Help Make Meals Special

Cowberry Crossing Farm, Neversink Farm, Gajeski Produce and Mead Orchards have plenty of fresh vegetables and crisp fruit for your week's meals. Pura Vida Fisheries, Yellow Bell Farm, Campanelli's Poultry Farm, Kiernan Farm and Cowberry Crossing Farm are all in attendance Saturday and have great meats for hearty winter dishes. For New Year's consider bringing the party host fine cheeses from Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse, Edgwick Farm, or Chaseholm Farm Creamery. Bread Alone, Orwasher's and Bobolink will be in with artisan loaves that are wonderful with cheese. Or bring the host a party platter from Pickle Licious, a jar of special jam from Conant Valley Jams, unique peanut butter from The Peanut Principle, great snacks from GF Healing Home Foods, a strudel from Strudel Z, or a savory tart (or sweet dessert) from Red Barn Bakery. The Market is full of ways to celebrate a delicious New Year.

Phelps Health Tip:

Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "The food of the week is MUSHROOMS…the incredible, edible fungi. Often used as a garnish, they can also be used as a main ingredient for a healthy and hearty meal. Mushrooms are a great source of B-vitamins, vitamin D and minerals such a potassium, selenium, calcium and fiber".

STRIVING TO BE THE BEST, EVERY WEEK

The Pleasantville Farmers Market strives to provide a great experience for shoppers and vendors, every week, year-round. For four years in a row the Market has been among local businesses awarded the honor of "Best of Westchester" by those who voted in Westchester Magazine's annual contest. As a community-based service, we're proud of this feedback. If customers are pleased, then we're fulfilling our mission to our community, farms and food artisans.

The Pleasantville Farmers Market is again one of several farmers markets in the "Best of Westchester" first round voting. Please take a minute to VOTE TODAY for your favorite farmers market and all local, small restaurants and businesses that have earned your loyalty. To begin voting use this link:

THANKS!

In 2017 the Pleasantville Farmers Market was again named "Best of Westchester" in Westchester Magazine's reader survey -- a reflection of its continued success serving customers as the largest, year-round farmers market in Westchester County. As a Pleasantville-based, not-for-profit, our continuing goals are to support healthy eating, regional agriculture, and patronage of our neighboring Pleasantville shops and eateries. In the spirit of the holiday we acknowledge all those who helped make 2017 such a great year:

Thanks to the administration and Board of Education of the Pleasantville Union Free School District for allowing us the use of the Pleasantville Middle School cafeteria. It's this spirit of cooperation between all aspects of Pleasantville life that makes our village such a great place to live, to visit, and to conduct business. We thank the Village of Pleasantville, and the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce for supporting the Pleasantville Farmers Market's mission. We acknowledge the generosity of our Lead Sponsor, Sponsors and Business Supporters and we hope you will seek them out as businesses, and support them as well. We thank customers who have contributed as Friends of the Market. We thank the remarkable young people who volunteer through the Market's Intern Program. And we are especially grateful for the bonds of friendship and loyalty that have developed between shoppers at the Market and our wonderful farmers and food artisans. Thanks to all who support the Pleasantville Farmers Market, ensuring it continues to be a fun, vibrant place to meet friends and feast one's senses.

Happy New Year!
