BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY — Demolition of the old Wells Fargo branch on Pleasantville Road will begin March 6, weather permitting.

The Village purchased the property at 1050 Pleasantville Road across from Village Hall for future public use in June, adding it to the three acres it already owns south of the bank parking lot. Long-term possibilities include additional retail, professional office space, residential units, off-street parking, and additional space for operations that have outgrown Village Hall across the street. Meanwhile, the village instantly gained additional parking for the central business district. And the Briarcliff Volunteer Fire Department gained a structure to practice on: firefighters conducted training drills Saturday and on Feb. 16.
