Erratic Driving Leads To Drug Charges In Mount Pleasant

She was pulled over on the Sprain Brook Parkway.


MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — A Nyack woman faces multiple charges after being stopped by state police on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Mount Pleasant. Police said they received a call about an erratic driver on the Sprain at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. They found the car and followed it for a short distance, noting several vehicle and traffic violations, they said.

Then they pulled over Stephanie A. Sabino, 32.

During the traffic stop and subsequent interview of Sabino, the troopers decided her ability to operate a motor-vehicle was impaired, and placed her under arrest. Inventory of the vehicle prior to impounding revealed approximately 3.2 grams of heroin and a hypodermic needle.

Sabino is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic instrument, a Class A Misdemeanor, Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, also an Unclassified Misdemeanor.

She was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets and an Appearance Ticket all returnable to the Town of Mount Pleasant Justice Court on Oct. 19.
