16th Annual Westchester Crossword Tournament to benefit the Pleasantville Fund for Learning

The Pleasantville Fund for Learning will hold its 16th Annual Westchester Crossword Puzzle Tournament on Friday, September 21, 2012, 7:30pm-9:45pm at the Westchester Table Tennis Center, 175 Tompkins Ave., Pleasantville, N.Y.  The event is directed by Will Shortz, Puzzlemaster and Crossword Editor for The New York Times, and is sponsored by The Village Bookstore of Pleasantville.  Delicious desserts, coffee, and tea will be offered to all contestants, courtesy of the PFFL board members. Entry is $30 for individual, $45 for a doubles team, and $5 for spectators.  Registration is available in advance at The Village Bookstore or by mail, and at the door the night of the event.  All event proceeds go to the Pleasantville Fund for Learning.  For more information about the Tournament, go the PFFL’s website at www.pffl.org, and click on the Westchester Xword 2012 tab.


Founded in 1993, the Pleasantville Fund for Learning is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the educational opportunities of our school children in the Pleasantville School District.  Each year through donations, the PFFL raises thousands of dollars to fund teacher and student grant requests which result in making education
exciting for every student.  Last year, the PFFL was able to honor approximately $25,500 worth of grant requests.
