"Based on a novel by Rula Jebreal, Schnabel's latest tells the story of Miral (Freida Pinto) an orphan brought up safely by Hind Husseini inside the walls of the Dar Al-Tifel Institute. At the age of 17, she is awakened to the reality of the Palestinian refugees and finds herself torn between the First Intifada of her people and Mama Hind's belief that education is the road to peace. Miral debuted at the 2010 Venice Film Festival."
