Pleasantville Chamber Music Society Concert

The Pleasantville Chamber Music Society presents The Manhattan String Quartet at a free concert on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at 3:00, at the Presbyterian Church, 400 Bedford Rd., Pleasantville, NY.

 The program will include two works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: the Adagio and Fugue in C minor, K. 546, and the String Quartet in D Major, K. 575.  The third work is String Quartet #1, Op. 7, by Arnold Schoenberg.

 The Quartet has been described by the Boston Globe as “a national treasure.”  Its members are Eric Lewis and Calvin Wiersma, violin, John Dexter, viola, and Christopher Finckel, violoncello.  Now in its 41st season, the Quartet has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and South America.
