REGISTER NOW! FACE TO FACE: CREATIVE PORTRAITS

Tuesdays, October 2 – November 20; 10:15 – 12:15 am

This step-by-step instructional sequence will teach participants how to create a variety of basic
drawing effects. Participants will discuss and explore how to apply these techniques to their final
project. Using the library’s art book collection, we will compare different styles. Participants will
enhance their drawn portraits using different mediums: colored pencil, watercolor, oil pastel, and
collage. Everyone will create a final project: a large portrait incorporating photographs, images,
coloring, painting and collage/assemblage. The portraits will be on exhibit in December 2012. Kim
McCormack, a professional artist and teacher, will lead the sessions.

Note: This special grant-funded program is for interested participants 55 years of age and older.
Space is limited and Village of Briarcliff Manor residents will receive priority. Please register by emailing mgreenblatt@wlsmail.org or calling Melinda Greenblatt at 941-7072. We will contact selected participants by      Sept. 24.
