Pleasantville gas station reopens with expanded shopping options.

There is in Pleasantville, but Paul Singh, owner of the Bedford Road Citgo, continues to offer an increasingly rare service to his customers.

"We give you full service in snow, rain and heat," he said proudly. "We are very friendly with customers."

Singh, who has owned the gas station/mini-mart property for three years, recently shut down for a few months for some major renovations.

In addition to two new gas pumps outside, the interior of the has been completely reworked.

"We had to replace the underground tanks and pumps outside," said Singh. "Inside, we have a new floor, lights and ceiling."

The store's layout has also changed, with an expanded counter space and growing selection of tobacco products.

Patrons can also serve themselves hot coffee, cold beer and a variety of snack foods.

"I'm trying to convert this store into a premium tobacco store," Singh explained of the new offerings when the store reopened three-and-a-half weeks ago. "Everyone so far has been very happy to see the change."

The Citgo gas station and Pleasantville Smoke Shop & Food Mart is located at 510 Bedford Rd. and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
