Fourth Grade Musicians Perform in BRS Spring Concert
Band, orchestra and chorus delight a packed house at PHS.
Band Director Jon Vercesi made a quick joke to the crowd as he waited for a couple of late arrivals before beginning the band's first song Thursday night.
A young clarinetist scrambled as he looked for a way to get to his chair on the crowded stage and as he was seated, and moments later, the 2011 Spring Concert kicked off as the hundred-member 4th grade band played Fanfare and March.
Vercesi led the band through three more selections as the orchestra waited patiently in the wings clutching violins, violas and cellos just offstage.

Director Meg Hill conducted the 30-member orchestra as they played five selections. The concert concluded as more than 120 students sang in the 4th grade chorus, joined by members of the band for several selections.
