Chambal, who has been in the catering business for decades, previously operated a catering company called Custom Cuisine out of a Tarrytown storefront for several years.

"I sold it five years ago and decided to open a smaller place," he revealed. "We just brought it to Briarcliff."

He has also done catering work for Abigail Kirsch in Tarrytown and Stone Barns' Blue Hill in Pocantico Hills.

According to Chambal, he realized his love for food at an early age and quickly learned he could also make a living while enjoying his passion.

"I like making people happy," he explained.

At Good Food, Chambal's wife Alyssa Jacobs, who has a nutrition degree, is also helping with the venture. The duo decided to keep Good Food all-natural and believe the Briarcliff Manor community's "educated customers" will embrace its feel and offerings.

Good Food offers lunch and dinner specials, along with its daily menu that includes items including savory crêpes and salads.

For $10, customers can enjoy a crêpe with smoked salmon, organic greens and scallion sauce; or a curried chicken salad sandwich with celery, walnuts and dried cranberries for $7.

Chambal gets to the shop at 7 a.m. every morning, when he bakes fresh bread for the sandwiches.

Sweet crêpes at Good Food start at $3. Quinoa salad with tomates and roasted garlic is $7 and carrot ginger soup costs $5.

Ice cream ($4/small; $6 sundae) comes from Jane's Ice Cream in Kingston, NY, while many of the other fresh ingredients are purchased from Cortlandt Manor-based DanMel's Family Farm and local farmers' markets.

The couple's children, Chloe and Asa, will also be working at Good Food over the summer. Chambal has also been hiring locals to work in the shop, including student Travis Amiel, 15 (pictured).

Now, Chambal is focusing on expanding the catering side of Good Food, while building a strong daily menu for walk-in customers.

As fall approaches, he's also looking for seasonal ingredients and selections to add to the menu, including pumpkin pie.

"I'm really looking forward to the holidays," he added.
