Great Escape: Prospero Winery in Pleasantville

Can’t make it to Napa Valley for a wine tasting any time soon? Eh, who needs the jet lag anyway? You can take a quick trip to a winery right in Pleasantville.

has a tasting room where customers can sample their wine varieties–including red wine, white wines, dessert wines and sparking wines. And on Saturdays, the winery often hosts special wine pairing events.

Some examples: The winery recently teamed up with the ladies of Pleasantville’s for what sounds like a delicious pairing–cupcakes and wine. And last month, they hosted their annual Valentine’s Day chocolate and wine pairing, with chocolate supplied by local vendors.

Thinking of dropping by? The tasting room is open during the afternoons, Tuesday to Sunday.
