Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "Apple cider vinegar (ACV) contains acetic acid, vitamin C, and B vitamins. Acetic acid can increase the body's absorption of important minerals from the foods we eat. Several studies have shown ACV consumption in patients with Type 2 diabetes improved their blood sugar control, insulin levels, and high triglyceride levels".
Winter Market details
If you use Pleasantville Farmers Market Online to preorder items by 7:00pm tonight and pick them up on Saturday, you'll understand how the outdoor winter market can work. Here are some additional winter season and PFM-O details to note:
- Produce vendors will be preorder-only because displayed apples and greens freeze in cold weather. These growers will focus on safely delivering preordered items.
- ###strong so while you're shopping for produce online, you may as well do all your shopping there.
- The pickup fee is reduced to $2.00 for winter. A single $2.00 pickup fee is placed on your order (no matter how many producers you shop from) to cover credit card fees and customer service.
- No producer in PFM-O sets minimums for your orders.
- More produce arriving to PFM-O in December. Since Neversink Farm declined to be in this winter, we've identified another amazing small-scale, no-till farm that will be joining us after Thanksgiving. They feature wonderful fresh cut salad mixes, baby greens, lettuces, micro-greens/shoots, and baby root crops.
- Walk-up shopping? ALL producers are online. SOME vendors may also have products available for walk-up purchases. Prices are the same either way.
- When do I shop online? PFM-O is open 7:00pm Tuesday to 7:00pm Thursday.
- Changed hours? Yes, starting December 5th the Market is open 9:00am to 11:30am.
