HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Data compiler Niche has ranked the best school districts for 2019. The rankings were released this week as part of the website's 2019 K-12 rankings.
To arrive at the rankings, Niche looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data, and ratings collected from Niche users. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
Each district received a letter grade in the following categories: Academics; Diversity; Teachers; College Prep; Clubs & Activities; Health & Safety; Administration; Sports; Food; and Resources & Facilities.

The top-ranked school district in the Hudson Valley for 2019 is Edgemont. Niche ranked Edgemont third in all of New York and No. 16 in America, and gave it an A+ in all categories except for A- in Diversity and Clubs & Activities.

According to Niche, the Jericho Union Free School District in Jericho, New York, is the best school district in the country overall.
With an overall Niche grade of A+, the district received a grade of A+ in academics, teachers, clubs and activities, college prep and health and safety. In the category of diversity, Niche awarded the school district a B+.
