The Pleasantville Farmers Market is jumping into June this Saturday with kids everywhere enjoying ice pops from Puras Paletas (and a some from Teagevity too). Shoppers will see the growing season gaining big momentum with rhubarb, asparagus, strawberries, snap peas, crisp lettuces and lots of fresh herbs available. This weekend visitors will find the Village of Pleasantville's DEI Committee tabling at our Community Tent helping us kick off Pride Month (8:30am-12:15pm). Pleasantville Music Festival volunteers will be in with an opportunity to buy tickets in advance of the July 8 festival (8:30am-12:00pm). Artists Kat & Greg Nemec will provide a craft activity for kids, creating floral wreaths and bugs with egg cartons (9:30-11:00). And there's a Music Series performance of old time fiddle music by The Shovel Ready String Band to enjoy as well (10:30-12:30).

METERED PARKING NOW AT MEMORIAL PLAZA

April 11th the Village of Pleasantville transitioned the Memorial Plaza parking lot to metered parking. The Village's Pango smartphone app and a new pay station are available for all metered streetside and Plaza lot parking. Here are the basic steps to using the payment kiosk:
- Have your license plate number when using the pay station.
- Select location as parking lot or on street.
- Dip your credit card to continue
- Add length of time for your visit to finish the process
- The pay station accepts credit cards, and cash (note: the machine does not dispense change).
- No paper receipt is necessary on your dashboard
- Download the free Pango app for iPhone or Android devices, and follow the prompts to set up an account and method of payment. There is a 16% service fee charged by Pango. The app will deliver a reminder message seven minutes before time expires.

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS
Many of our vendors offer product types in PFM-O having a drop down menu. These are signified by a small "V" or "carrot" symbol to the right of the item price. Whether listing pies, teas, or spices these drop downs expand to list multiple options available to be purchased.

1/2 bushel SALE!
A new drop down has been added to Mead Orchard's PFM-O store for varieties such as Cameo, Fuji, Galarina, Gold Rush, Macoun, Mutsu, Pink Lady, Shizuka, and Sweet Zinger apples. Shoppers can purchase the usual 2 quart unit (8 - 12 apples), or use the drop down to take advantage of an incredible bulk sale of a 1/2 bushel. 1/2 bushel offers are only available through PFM-O.
Produce Report for June:
Dobler Farms has asparagus, strawberries, rhubarb, and lettuces such as arugula, baby spinach, Boston and Green Oak -- and mid-month they'll have radishes, Swiss chard and kale. Maple View Farm now has head lettuce, escarole, beets, carrots and prewashed and bagged salad greens -- mid-month they'll have green beans, snap peas, and cucumbers. Wright's Farm has rhubarb, strawberries, NEW honey berries (which are actually a tart cousin to blueberries with even more antioxidants), and strawberry donuts! This week Little Seed Gardens has salad greens, arugula, spinach, pea shoots, chard, radishes, herbs, scallions and more -- and mid-month they'll add scapes, snap peas, baby squash, beets and edible flowers. Gajeski Produce has asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries and snap peas this Saturday -- and mid-month they'll have fresh, red new potatoes. Mead Orchards is continuing their 1/2 bushel SALE this week in PFM-O, they've tons of strawberries and they're giving advanced notice that mid-moth they'll have broccolini, and late-June brings the first cherries of the season. All June our growing season will reintroduce the seasonal foods we love!
The River Garden is back Saturday with dried floral craft items and our first cut flowers of the season!
SOVA Farm is back with eggs and they will have FRESH whole heritage and broiler chickens, and fresh duck breasts, quarters and livers.
This week Conant Valley will have their first apricot jam of the season, a delightfully tart preserve, which matches beautifully with Edgwick Farm chevre cheese.
Bombay Chutney Company wants to help you add flavor to your menu with their authentic and traditional chutneys, simmer sauces and frozen meals.
Simply Planted says their Heat Lover plantings are ready! Great for holding up to summer heat. They also have "Sun and Shade" Drop-N-Grows, hanging baskets, annuals and more.
Spice Revolution is featuring seasoned salts as the perfect compliment to all the great fresh foods coming into season at the Market. Salts include rosemary lemon garlic sea salt, applewood smoked sea salt, chili lime sea salt, black garlic sea salt, lemon rose sea salt and many more. Their buttermilk panna cotta this week will be a refreshing Thai Iced Tea.
River Valley Community Grains is highlighting a NEW product: pastry flour milled from soft red wheat. It bakes tender pastries, chewy cookies and delicious pie crusts. It can also be used in several classic recipes like biscuits, cinnamon rolls and pancakes. Check out all their items in PFM-O or stop by their booth this Saturday.
Kiernan Farm has a nice SALE on 1.5 - 2lb beef London broils at $17.50/lb (reg. $22.50/lb), they've discounted pork chops to $13.50/lb (reg. $16.50/lb; 2 in a pack). Also, buy five 1lb packages of ground beef at $13.00/lb, you get $10.00 off the total.
With the start of summer, Edgwick Farm has a new seasonal pairing. Blueberry Canterbury is fresh blueberry compote layered under honeyed soft goat cheese. Try a taste at their market table!
Melissa's Health Hub has a new flavor Melon Mojito containing fresh strawberries for an extra delicious & refreshing drink.
Woven Stars Farm will have fresh chicken this Saturday! Their cuts include whole roaster chickens, boneless breasts, bone-in and boneless thighs (new item!), drumsticks, wings, livers, hearts, necks and soup kits!
