Saturday is the last winter market with the hours of 9:00 - 11:30am. And we'll wrap things up with a full market and reasonable springtime weather.

Also this week shoppers can make a donation to the Pleasantville Community Garden to help ease food insecurity in the area (to do so, use Pleasantville Farmers Market Online). We'll have representatives visiting from the Climate Smart Community Task Force (CSC), a Pleasantville committee helping residents reduce carbon emissions in our village. And our lot coordinators and market volunteers will be handing out information about changes to customer parking on 4/2.

NEW PARKING PATTERN
starting on 4/2

This week the marketplace and customer parking at the Plaza remain status quo. The following week, on April 2, the marketplace will move to the south end of Memorial Plaza (near to Bedford Road) and customer parking will be relocated to the upper part of the parking lot (where the marketplace is currently). These adjustments accommodate the Village's Manville Road Improvement Project in 2022. The map below displays the parking pattern on 4/2:

For more parking options get to know the "hidden parking lots of Pville". In addition to Memorial Plaza, there are 8 parking lots within a few blocks of the Market (6 of them offering free parking). That's over 400 parking spaces available - plus metered street parking throughout the Village. Review them all by clicking here to view a summary of parking lot locations.

VISITING:
Climate Smart Community Task Force

The Climate Smart Community Task Force (CSC) is a Pleasantville committee working to reduce carbon emissions in our village. They've launched several climate campaigns for Village residents, including the Electric Lawn Equipment Rebate Program which offers up to $125 to help residents change from gas powered to electric lawn equipment.

They're seeking sign ups now for added programs. The Village can receive multiple $5,000 grants for promoting the important programs below. Sign up to help us see these climate related initiatives come about.

Grid Rewards – a program that can earn you about $100-$200 per year, or more, for voluntarily reducing your energy use during extreme demand times. Pleasantville will get a $5000 grant after 10 signups. You can sign up at https://sustainablewestchester.org/gridrewards
Community Solar – You can save about 10% on your electric bill by using power from a nearby solar farm. There is no solar installation on your property, no cost to join or cancellation fees and no reason to wait. You can sign up at https://sustainablewestchester.org/solar
Energy Smart Homes – EnergySmart Homes helps residents learn about cleaner ways to heat and cool their homes, access vetted energy efficiency experts and simplified financing. You can apply at https://sustainablewestchester.org/energysmarthomes

Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "An apple a day may indeed help keep you out of the doctor’s office, and scientists are just beginning to find out why. Plenty of vitamins and minerals, as well as phytonutrients, are packed into one baseball-sized piece of fruit. Considerable research is currently centered on the role of phytonutrients that act as antioxidants, which are found in many fruits, red wine and tea. Antioxidants counteract chemicals in the blood that oxidize, or damage, certain molecules. Flavonoids are the most common group of phytonutrients in foods. Apples are particularly high in one of the flavonoids called quercetin, which has high antioxidant activity".

Red Barn Bakery is hiring! Red Barn is seeking new staff members. If you are interested in learning more please email randell@redbarn-bakery.com.

Market Intern Program
The Market is accepting applications from area students, grades 8 - 12, for the our spring/summer/fall Intern Program. For information email info@pleasantvillefarmersmarket.org.
