MAKING SENSE OF MODERN ART

Expand your knowledge and appreciation of art Sunday, February 7, at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library.

Many people don’t fully understand the major Modern Art movements that occurred between 1900-1945, which include Fauvism, Cubism, Expressionism, Dada, and Surrealism. In this program, we’ll survey those developments and discuss how and why Modernism emerged. We’ll also talk about the goals of the Modernists, and offer some insights on how to “read” and understand Modern Art. Expand your knowledge and appreciation. Join us! Jill Kiefer, PHD, an art historian and teaching artist and the Founder and Director of What About Art, will lead this program. Sunday, February 7th at 2:00 pm at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library, 1 Library Road, Briarcliff Manor NY 10510. Registration is recommended but all are welcome to attend. To register, e-mail sglick@wlsmail.org or call 914-941-7072.
