First-term U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-18th) won't be cashing his paycheck while the federal government shutdown continues.
On his Facebook page, the congressman said, "I sent a letter to ask for my pay to be withheld during this shutdown. Until Congress ends this irresponsible shutdown, I won't accept a penny - Members of Congress shouldn't get a better deal than the families at West Point and Stewart Air National Guard."
For constituents who have questions about the shutdown's impacts, Maloney has a note on his website people to call his office at 202-225-5441 or 845-561-1259.
