The Market Will Be Open & Delicious This Saturday, 3/21
Pleasantville Farmers Market is open Saturday, 8:30am – 1:00pm

The Pleasantville Farmers Market is open again at Memorial Plaza, this Saturday, 3/21.
We thank George Latimer, County Executive of Westchester County, and our local municipal team from the Village of Pleasantville, for supporting our efforts to sustain the Market as an essential food service. Their help has enabled us to support area residents, farmers and food artisans at this very challenging time. If you need food, please make purchases at the Market. COVID-19 has created both a health risk and an economic crisis in our producer community. Our vendor's small businesses are vulnerable and need your long-term support.
Despite the current chaos, the Market producers in attendance on Saturdays are some of the most dependable and safe sources of milk, eggs, proteins, fruit, vegetables, honey, wine, bread, prepared foods and more. See you at the Market.

Last week shoppers were so grateful that the Market was open. Our producers have never been thanked so many times in a day! Customers recognize the Market is safer outdoors, uncrowded, has minimally handled food, two hand washing stations, market vendors and staff effectively using gloves, and has vendor tents spaced out. It is certainly a friendly and calm place to stock up on essentials and treats. This week the Market is taking safety protocols to an even higher level with all products further protected from potential transmission of germs. Thank you for your continued patience as vendors adapt to these new protocols.

Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "There is a good reason vitamin D is called the "sunshine vitamin". When your skin is exposed to sunlight, it makes vitamin D from cholesterol. The sun's ultraviolet B (UVB) rays hit cholesterol in the skin cells, providing energy for vitamin D synthesis to occur".

Two years ago, they experimented by washing cheddar curds in a craft beer (Keegan Ale's Mother’s Milk in this batch) before pressing the curds. Aged two years, they cut a few wheels open this month and it tastes amazing! The result is a nutty, medium-sharp cheddar with a hoppy aroma and taste. They have half pound wedges Saturday at $15/wedge and you can try a taste at their table.
