The Market's Producers & Shoppers: Bravely Consistent!
Pleasantville Farmers Market is open Saturday, 8:30am – 1:00pm

Many conveniences were easy to take for granted, until the power went out last week. Many things were easy to take for granted until COVID-19 arrived. The wonderful food our farmers and food artisans create is also easy to take for granted. Despite big challenges, such as a pandemic and intense summer-long drought, our producers have managed to be consistent in their support of our community every week. And, in the face of local challenges from COVID-19, our shoppers have also been bravely consistent in their support of our producers. The Pleasantville Farmers Market wouldn’t exist without these shared efforts balancing one another. But let’s not take for granted what we've grown. Please keep up your weekly support as we move through August, into the fall and through the winter so the power never goes out on this special market.

Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "The antioxidant vitamin C, when eaten in its natural form (in whole foods such as peaches) or applied topically, can reduce wrinkles, improve overall skin texture and help to fight skin damage caused by the sun and pollution. Vitamin C also plays a vital role in the formation of collagen, the support system of your skin".
Free 2020 Census Bags Again This Week

Shop PFM-ONLINE!
Pleasantville Farmers Market Online (PFM-O) provides a way to enjoy contactless shopping, reserve items to avoid the morning rush, and to keep your Market visit brief.
If you are a first time user of PFM-O please register by CLICKING HERE. Then use the same link to login and preorder from participating vendors - you can place orders today until 2:00pm (PFM-O is open each week Tuesday, 7:00pm - Thursday, 2:00pm).
How to pick up preordered items?
- Items ordered on PFM-O are collected at vendor’s tents.
- All participating vendors have a sign saying “Preorder From Me Online”.
- In front of vendors that typically lack significant lines "Walk Up Service & Preorder Pick Up" is painted on the pavement. PFM-O shoppers wait briefly with other walk up shoppers to collect their items from these vendors.
- Vendors having dedicated, sizeable walk up lines display a “Pick Up Preorders Here” sign above a yellow "Preorder Pick Up" box painted on the pavement - at these vendors you can skip the walk up line. Step in the box, then step away quickly after receiving your preorder.
PFM-O is also a great way to further support your producers. By preordering items and skipping the line at our busiest vendors you can help reduce the length of vendors' walk up lines (to their relief!) and provide them needed revenue during a challenging year.
PFM-O ABSENCES:
Morgiewicz Produce will be at the Market Saturday but is absent this week from the PFM-O. Rock City Mushrooms is unable to participate in PFM-O and the Market this Saturday.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
Masks Are Mandatory & Other Guidelines
Help the Market remain a safe and efficient place to gather food. Masks are required to be worn while at the Market. Please send only one member of the family to shop. If arriving as a couple, bring enough reusable bags so you can splitting up shopping tasks. Do not use the Market at this time as a family outing as we must limit the number of people in the marketplace, and shopping is meant to be brief and purposeful. For more information about COVID-19 protocols for shoppers please click here. Your adherence to these shopping guidelines assists us in keeping the Market open to support residents and vendors alike.
Absolutely avoid the Market if you are sick. Especially so if you exhibit any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus (temperature of 100° or above, a cough, a sore throat, shortness of breath). The New York State Department of Health has set up a hotline at (888) 364-3065 where Department of Health experts are available to answer questions regarding COVID-19.

Food Donation Day:
Big Results!
We are happy to share the news that last Saturday's Food Donation Day received great support! 834 pounds of fresh produce was donated at the Pleasantville Farmers Market - along with 134 loaves of bread, plus some donations of bagels, peanut butter, jam, applesauce, granola and soup. Of that total 273 pounds were from our generous farmers. Many of you used PFM-O last week to make cash donations which were used by the Pleasantville Community Garden to purchase items to donate. All this food was donated to Hillside Food Outreach, Mt. Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry and to Neighbors Link for distribution to their clients starting on Monday, 8/10. Thank you everyone for helping make this incredible donation day come together!
