Markowitz Wins 1st Place in 9th Judicial District Essay Contest
The essay contest topic for this year was "has the #MeToo movement touched your community or school"

BHS Junior Stephanie Markowitz took First Place in the Ninth Judicial District’s Committee to Promote Gender Fairness in the Courts Essay Contest celebrating Women's History Month. Making the win even more sweet, Stephanie previously won this award in the freshman/sophomore category in 2018.
The essay contest topic for this year was "has the #MeToo movement touched your community or school” and Stephanie's winning entry was read at an Awards Ceremony at the Westchester County Courthouse on May 10th, which included judges, public officials, members of the bar, and other guests.
The contest is open to all high school students in the Ninth Judicial District, including Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Duchess and Orange counties. winner in the junior/senior category. Stephanie received a $500 award, and received certificates from the Ninth Judicial District, the New York State Senate, and the Westchester County Board of Legislators.
