Meet Puppy Bowl XXII Star, And Local Rescue Pup, 'Luna'
The 3-month-old labradoodle mix, from the SPCA Westchester, will be part of the adorable alternative to the big game on Super Bowl Sunday.

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY — Sometimes, it just looks like it's every puppy for themselves on the playing field under the stadium lights.
And it's true that the Puppy Bowl is less of a team sport than the NFL championship game that inspired it. On Sunday, however, one local puppy out there will be playing her heart out — not just for herself, but for all rescue animals.
SPCA Westchester has just announced that the very special rescue puppy in their care has made the cut and will be taking the field in Puppy Bowl XXII. Luna, a scruffy 3-month-old labradoodle mix, is the odds-on favorite Most Valuable Puppy in this year's installment of the growing annual tradition.

"All the rescue puppies playing in the Puppy Bowl are winners in our eyes, but we're very excited to cheer on Luna from the sidelines," SPCA Westchester CEO Shannon Laukhuf said. "The Puppy Bowl is such a great opportunity to shine a well-deserved spotlight on homeless pets and we're so grateful to Warner Bros. Discovery for helping to spread the word on rescue and adoption."
You can catch Luna's display of antics and athletics on the Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, HBO Max or discovery+.
