There's a lot going on around Memorial Plaza; the village sent out an update.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — So much is taking place on and around Memorial Plaza that the village included several items in its July update email.

  • Manville Road Pedestrian Project: Work on Manville Road between Grant Street and Tompkins Avenue, is expected to begin this summer – pending receipt of the work permit from the state Department of Transportation. The project is estimated to cost approximately $2.5 million, of which $1.6 million will be reimbursed to the Village through a federal grant. Availability of material and equipment is expected to affect the project’s timeline. For an overview of the Manville Road project, click here.
  • 70 Memorial Plaza – The three-level garage has been completed along with the exterior building envelope. The plumbing, electrical and mechanical phase of the project is currently underway. The owner anticipates substantial completion by the start of 2023.
  • Holiday Tree at Manville and Edgewood to be Replaced: After some years of decline, the Village consulting arborist reported that the Norway Spruce and its root system are beyond recovery. The existing tree will be removed, and a new 20’-25’ tree will be planted in its place in late August or early September.

And don't forget, the Pleasantville Farmers Market is in full swing — with abundant summer produce — on the south end of Memorial Plaza. The market operates each Saturday from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm. SEE this week's posting on Patch:
