Mother's Day Market!

This Saturday ideas for Mother's Day should spring to mind as we welcome a number of vendors with items Mom would love!

We have a full market with thirteen rotation vendors joining us, including Little Croc Bakehouse, Cooper's Daughter Spirits, Hamov Eh, Fjord Vineyards, SallyeAnder and Sharper Harper (a full list is further below).

Simply Planted Greenhouses is in with flowering annuals which will look great on Mom's deck. The River Garden returns (weather permitting) with stunning dried floral arrangements, wreaths and early cuttings. Shop Saturday to get fresh eggs, bacon, vegetables, meats and desserts to go home and make great Mother's Day meals. Below we highlight many additional items that could provide Mother's Day fun.

And special this Saturday only, the community-driven Pleasantville Garden Club Annual Plant Sale is at the Plaza, alongside the Market, from 8:00am - 11:30am. Choose from heirloom plants from member's gardens, seedlings to begin your vegetable patch, and gorgeous hanging baskets. If parking at a lot other than Memorial Plaza, use the event's convenient "5 minute loading" parking spaces (across from the Diner).

It may be a damp this Saturday - all the more reason to browse and shop ahead of time from our vendors using Pleasantville Farmers Market Online!

METERED PARKING NOW AT MEMORIAL PLAZA

April 11th the Village of Pleasantville transitioned the Memorial Plaza parking lot to metered parking. The Village's Pango smartphone app and a new pay station are available for all metered streetside and Plaza lot parking.

• Note that this payment kiosk has you dip your credit card BEFORE the next step of ADDING TIME.
• You will need your license plate number when using the pay station.
• Parking meters have stickers (and QR codes) that indicate the parking zone, and parking lots have signs posted with zone numbers.
• The pay station accepts credit cards, and cash (note: the machine does not dispense change).
• Download the free Pango app for iPhone or Android devices, and follow the prompts to set up an account and method of payment. There is a 16% service fee charged by Pango. The app will deliver a reminder message seven minutes before time expires.

PREFER FREE PARKING?

If you prefer free parking note the lots that are blue (free) in our Village map of parking lots. Get to know these "hidden parking lots of P'ville" as 6 out of 9 offering free parking. ON 5/7 & 5/14:

Sharper Harper (Harper Keehn Knife Sharpening) will be in this Saturday to sharpen your knives while you shop. Get the edge back on your favorite knives so you're set for a delicious season of slicing fresh foods from the Market.

Pleasantville Farmers Market remains committed to the health and safety of the whole community, including shoppers, vendors, volunteers, and staff.

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS

Simply Planted Greenhouses is in with cool season annuals, lots of pansies, spring combos, Drop & Grows, baskets and more - all grown without pesticides - all can tolerate down to 28°.

Little Seed Gardens has lots of fresh items to offer including sorrel, arugula, kale and other salad mixes, green garlic, Little Gem head lettuce and baby bok choy.

Spice Revolution has spices, spices blends, and salts, and some sweet treats too (Italian Chocolate Chip Cookies this week).

Pickle Licious has olives and olive mixes, pickles, and numerous additional pickled items to help you create a fun appetizer plate this weekend.

Little Croc Bakehouse is back this Saturday with their sweet and savory items, all made in their dedicated gluten free kitchen.

Bombay Chutney Company suggests gifting Mom a jar of bold flavors, whether a chutney or simmer sauce. Or consider buying her Bombay's Chaat Chips & Chutney Gift Box (includes plum and mint chutneys and chaat chips for an authentic Papdi Chaat).

Hamov Eh will make their May visit Saturday offering spreads with flavors reminiscent of Armenian comfort food.

Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse creates a variety of breads, all produced in their wood-fired oven, including a delicious Medieval Rye Levain, also offered with either Kalamata olives or whole cloves of garlic. Enjoy some this week with Mom, along with Bobolink's cheese such as Drumm, Cave Aged Cheddar, or Frolic.

Puras Paletas is back with their yummy ice pops. Find them at the south end near Little Seed Gardens. Get your pops home still frozen: buy a Puras Paletas insulated bag!

Fjord Vineyards is in Saturday and has their 2021 Rosé back for spring. They're offering a 10% off a four pack of wine. The discount is available to both walk up and PFM-O shoppers (note in PFM-O the discount is applied and visible after credit cards are run late Friday afternoon).

SallyeAnder is making their May visit this week with their line of balms and excellent soaps.

Maple View Farm is highlighting this week their offerings include arugula, parsley, dill, salad mix, and beautiful head lettuces.

Review Teagevity's loose leaf teas to gift Mom a perfect cuppa. Teagevity produces custom tea blends with regionally grown herbs and teas from around the world, many from certified organic sources.

Cooper's Daughter Spirits is in with their unique distilled items including Finocchietto Amaro (fennel) liqueur, Black Currant liqueur, Black Walnut bourbon, Smoked Maple bourbon, Buddha's Hand Citron vodka, Cacao Maple vodka, and Pumpkin Spice vodka.

River Valley Community Grains is in with heirloom varieties of corn for popping, cornmeal, corn flour, and varieties of oats, rye and wheat, all grown using regenerative agriculture methods.

Both Wright's Farm and Conant Valley Jams have diverse options in jams. Browse each in PFM-O or at the Market -- a jam makes a nice item come Mother's Day! Also, while shopping from Wright's Farm, review their diverse pies, all made fresh at the farm.

Edgwick Farm will have their decadent chocolate goat cheese truffles for Mother's Day! Preorder to guarantee yours tonight in PFM-O. They're also highlighting a seasonal pairing of fresh strawberry rhubarb jam and fresh Canterbury soft goat cheese (try a sample at Edgwick's tent).
